This research laboratory-grade EC benchtop meter is supplied with the Hanna HI-7631233 four-ring probe for the measurement of conductivity (μS/cm, mS/cm), resistivity (Ω・cm, kΩ・cm, MΩ・cm), TDS (ppm, ppt) and salinity (ppt, PSU, %). This purpose-built advanced probe makes the HI-6321 well-suited to a wide measurement range across various industrial process water applications.
The HI-7631233 includes an integral temperature sensor, allowing the measured conductivity to be adjusted to a reference temperature through the application of specialised compensation algorithms.
HI-6321 Laboratory Conductivity Meter Features
Practical, streamlined design
The HI-6000 series are streamlined meters designed to suit the requirements of modern laboratories. A practical, smaller footprint and simple design with a large, capacitive touchscreen that can be used even with gloves on make this EC meter a practical choice. The electrode arm can be swapped to either side of the meter, providing greater flexibility in placement within the lab.
Supplied with Hanna four-ring probe
The HI-6321 conductivity meter is supplied with the Hanna HI-7631233 probe for the measurement of conductivity, resistivity, TDS and salinity, with an integral temperature sensor. This purpose-built four-ring probe does not require frequent calibration and covers a comprehensive measurement range for all key parameters.
The integrated temperature sensor enables adjustment to measured conductivity through the application of one of three specialised compensation algorithms:
- Linear: appropriate for use in measurement where the temperature coefficient of variation has the same value for all measurement temperatures
- Standard: appropriate for use in high-purity water measurements and>1Mohm.cm resistivity measurements
- Natural: appropriate for use in natural well, ground or surface water or any water with a similar composition (ISO 7888 standard)
Electrode holder included
A dedicated electrode holder is included with the HI-6321 EC lab meter, allowing you to securely hold your probe while measuring samples. The holder can be mounted on either side of the meter, providing flexibility in placement in the laboratory.
Reliable and accurate measurement
The HI-6321 conductivity meter is designed to be exceptionally accurate in measuring TDS, conductivity, salinity and resistivity across a wide range with the ability to measure in multiple units for each parameter:
- TDS: TDS is both a calculated value based on the solution’s conductivity (factor x EC25) and is a conversion factor to measure EC in ppm
- Salinity PSU: The practical salinity of seawater relates the ratio of electrical conductivity of a normal seawater sample at 15 °C and 1 atmosphere to a potassium chloride solution (KCl) with a mass of 32.4356 g/Kg water at the same temperature and pressure. Under these conditions, the ratio is equal to 1 and S=35. The practical salinity scale may be applied to values 0 through 42.00 psu at temperatures between 0 to 35 °C.
- Salinity PPT: measurements expressed in ppt are based on the Natural Seawater Scale that extends from 0.00 to 80.00 g/L and covers the 10 to 31 °C temperature range. It determines the salinity based upon a conductivity ratio of sample to standard seawater at 15 °C and an approximate salinity value of 35 in seawater.
- Salinity %: in this scale 100% salinity is equivalent to roughly 10% solids.
Flexible configuration and design
The ability to connect via WiFi and ethernet with no requirement for a PC or printer connection allows greater flexibility in where the HI-6321 can be placed in the lab. The configurable electrode arm provides further flexibility in placement, allowing the advanced meter for EC to be placed up against a wall on either side as required.
